Vintage Photo Editor to Apply Retro Vintage Effects To Photos

Vintage Photo Editor to Apply Retro Vintage Effects To Photos

Like any other field, with time, the field of photography has also gone through a lot of changes and, today, has reached a platform where finest photos can be clicked with loads of available equipment and technology. You can capture every single detail and cover vast angles. And if this is not enough, there are photo editing apps that help you in further fine tuning those pictures. But, as the saying goes “old is gold”, photographers across the globe haven’t given up on their past and still preserve the old fashioned ways of clicking pictures and editing them. This reflects in the amount of retro filters, frames, etc. that we get to use today. Black & white filters are probably among one of the most favored ones and they are nothing but a reflection of past.

Another strong testament of relishing in these age old style retro effects are the below mentioned vintage photo editor apps. They contain multiple filters and each of these filters contains in some way a reflection of the past. And when old style filters meet the modern age of clarity, you know that you are in for a treat. Let us check them out.

Retro Camera- Vintage Grunge:

Retro Camera- Vintage Grunge is the first vintage photo editor app reviewed here for you. It is pretty straightforward in the way it functions; there are no sign ups required or no unnecessary stuff to look at. All you have to do is upload a photo from your gallery to its interface and choose among the multiple filters available. There are more than 50 good quality filters, layers available and they range from different time periods. You can check them out all one by one and hit the save button once you have taken your pick. Thus, it is a simple vintage photo editor app with nothing but a bunch of good quality photo filters.

However, this otherwise decent app is struck by two obstacles that play spoilsports. First of them is the unwanted ads that keep popping up with a frequency good enough to irritate you to the hilt. Secondly, there seems to be a few bugs in the app as it keeps crashing from time to time. Both these issues need to be fixed, and a couple of more features like sharing pics on social media can be added to make this app a real success. Try it out from the link given below.

Vintage Photo Editor:

Vintage Photo Editor

Next up is Vintage Photo Editor app. This is a small size app and the main interface itself is designed in old fashioned style. There a couple of important things that you can do with your photos using this app. Firstly, you can apply different effects, layers, and frames. There are multiple effects, layers, and frames available and you can try them all by clicking on the editor icon. However, I doubt if all these filters etc. can be called vintage as few of them do not qualify for that category according to my knowledge. The second thing you can do is once your editing is done; you can save & share these photos on different platforms. You can share them on social networking platforms like Facebook, Twitter etc. or also through email, Bluetooth.

All in all, this is a good photo editing app with some nice effects. The app functions smoothly and although there are ads, they consume small spaces of your screen and do not become a hindrance. Try it out from the below given link.

RetroSelfie:

RetroSelfie - Selfies Editor

The next vintage photo editor app is a fine example of modern photography meeting its older sibling. Selfies are a newly found trend and you can combine them with some classical effects to give them a nice touch. To begin with RetroSelfie comes with a really amazing interface that instantly captures your attention. Since the app is made specifically to edit selfies, you can choose to click a new one, or choose among the already existing ones. The app lets you choose photos from Google Drive, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, apart from your local phone gallery. This is one feature that is very rare & impressive.

Once you have chosen a photo, you can begin with the editing part. There are filters available like Clyde, Avenue, Haas, Arizona, and many more. Apart from filters, you also get to use different frames, stickers to embellish your photo, and tools to enhance images. Other basic editing tools like crop, contrast, brightness, saturation, focus, are also available to be used for free. Save the edited photos in the local gallery, or start sharing them instantly with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking platforms.

RetroSelfie is one of the richest apps in terms of features, especially editing tools. You get to choose among high quality filters, frames, and stickers, and also enhance your photos through different available editing tools.

Vintique- Photo Editor:

Vintique - Photo Editor

The penultimate vintage photo editor reviewed here is Vintique-Photo Editor. This is another high quality app with an excellent looking interface and some great features. The opening page requires you to make a selection between two options: Gallery and Camera. You can choose to edit photos in your local gallery, or Google Photos, or click a new picture and start editing it.

As you start with the editing stuff, you discover the uniqueness of this app. It contains some excellent vintage effects that really turn your picture around. The effects do not fail you in both quality and quantity. After effects comes the layers & frame that you can add to your images and make them even more interesting. The frames in this app are not the usual boring frames that you find in most of the editing apps, and they come as a real bonus. There are some exciting stickers also that you can use to decorate your images and make them look more interesting.

The list of features of this app does not end here. There is one more feature which manages to catch your attention i.e. Text. There are various colors and fonts available in which you can write whatever you want and insert it in your images. Finally, you can start sharing pictures on Facebook, Instagram, and email once all these features are exhausted.

If it wasn't for the irritating ads that keep popping up in between, I would have given this app full marks. Nevertheless, it would be foolish to let go this app just because of the ads. Try it out from the link given below.

Retro Photo Edit:

Retro Photo Edit

By the time you reach the next vintage photo editor, which is Retro Photo Edit, you tend to feel that it’s nothing but a repetition of previous apps in a new cover. But, this repetition does not take anything away from the usefulness of this app. It contains all the features that you would like to have in a photo editing app, except the feature to share edited photos online. You get a good bunch of image enhancing tools which include auto fixing, balancing colors, night mode, and a couple more. You also get a good gallery of filters, stickers, and frames. The stickers and frames in this app are free but have to be downloaded separately as a pack. The filters come pre loaded and include some really good ones like Boardwalk, sage, Metropoils, Cruz, and more.

The app also has some basic image editing tools which you can use for free. You can use features like adjusting brightness, cropping images, adjusting contrast, warmth, sharpness, etc. Options like adding text, drawing something with different colors, fixing red-eye, are also available. Thus, this app makes for an overall image editing app with some good retro effects. Try it out from the link given below.

Final Verdict:

In my view, apart from the first two vintage photo editor apps in the list, there is not much to choose between the following apps. All the three these apps apps have almost identical features, good looking interface and there are only minor advantages or disadvantages that have over each other. Even the obstacles faced by users in using these apps are similar as ads and occasional technical faults occur in all these three apps.

However, still if I am to choose one app out of all these, I would go with RetroSelfie. One of the main reasons for choosing this app is the large gallery of you images this app gives you access to. You can choose from online platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and no other above mentioned app lets you do this. However, apart from this, everything else is very much similar and you will enjoy working on all of them.
